Spanish I
Introduces the sounds and grammatical constructions of Spanish. Vocabulary centers on common subjects such as classroom objects, the body, clothing, time, date, and the home. It also includes an introduction to the culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
Spanish II
Continues to orient students to both the sound of the Spanish language and basic grammar, emphasizing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as a study of the cultures of Hispanic peoples. Topics and concepts introduced in Spanish I are addressed more sophisticatedly, befitting the students’ growing command of vocabulary and grammatical structure. Prerequisite: Spanish I
Spanish III
This course continues the sequential study begun in Spanish I and II. Emphasis is placed on vocabulary development, advanced grammar, speaking, and listening. Further understanding and appreciation of Spanish culture are stressed. Prerequisite: Spanish II
