Personal Internet Enabled Devices
Personal Internet Enabled Devices
On January 8, 2026, legislation was signed into law requiring all New Jersey public schools to prohibit the use of personal internet-enabled devices during instructional time. This includes cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, smart glasses, and other similar devices.
In accordance with state law, we will implement this policy beginning on the first day of school, August 31, 2026. During instructional time, all personal internet-enabled devices must be silenced and stored out of sight. Students are expected to use their school-issued Chromebooks for all classwork and instructional activities. The use of personal laptops, tablets, cell phones, and other internet-enabled devices is prohibited throughout the school day.
